Act One Panto Plans for 2013

Can’t believe it! Only yesterday, it seems, I was putting the finishing touches to our two pantomimes, Jack & the Beanstalk and Follow the Yellow Brick Road, and already we’re approaching the end of the season!
Now, I’m keeping alert, awaiting the inevitable call from Jule with a mixture of keen anticipation and mounting dread!
Jule, owner and artistic director for Act One, has been extremely busy for the past few months with bookings, costume and stage design, music, publicity, rehearsals and the sheer logistics of getting not one but TWO productions from one end of the country to the other. Which has made life rather peaceful for me, with only the occasional ecstatic email from Jule on how ‘Jack & the Beanstalk’ and ‘Follow the Yellow Brick Road’ have been Wowing audiences throughout the UK!

Seems all the hard work’s paid off! Each tour has proved a resounding success and with several primary schools now in on the act, audiences are expanding widely. Another new development was a special, extended showing of FTYBR at Hartlepool Civic where the reception was amazing. One review stating it was, “The best pantomime I’ve ever seen,” was echoed by all the local panto-goers and we’re looking forward to another invitation to play in Hartlepool during our next tour.
So what challenges are in store for 2013? Well, I know the title of our main production, which is....Sorry, no telling, but if I were to mention stilts, quantum physics, a host of favourite characters in unusual guises, and topsy-turvy goings on,  you’d be....completely clueless like me!
One thing’s for certain – the new pantomimes promise to be weird, whacky, wonderful, and an absolute Hoot!
In the meantime, watch out for all this year’s great reviews on Act One Panto’s website.
